okay, think ive asked before, but cant find the answer or thread. should the grill be grey

was cleaning my car and came to the grill, caught it and it appears its been painted black, should i takeit back to being grey???

I like the grille painted the same as the body colour personally, but yes it should normally be grey plastic.

lol dont think a white grill would look right. gunna take it back to to grey then i think :D

grey looks good against the bumper, thats been sprayed without primer etc, so ti should just flake off :thumb:

lol, well i started and gave up for the time being.But it's definatly becoming grey again. I shall post up some pics when its back to grey again. I'm right in thinking that the blade bits stay black?

The factory finish looked dark grey, but I've found on a fair number of grilles that it was actually a plastic coating over the moulded plastic, and it normally reacts badly when you paint it, blistering up. Making sure you sand it right back to the base plastic before you paint it is the key to avoiding the blisters.

If all else fails, go see the lads at AR Davis in Baldock......years ago I had a 1400SR Mk1, my bumpers went all funny.

Bought some paint from them that matched the original paint bang on, I used their primer for them aswell. Looked better than new!

They did some texture stuff so the finish looks OE too ;)
