both front brakes are seized so im off up the scrappy tomorrow.
they have 2 mk1 nova's, 1.2's
2 1.2 corsa b's
and 1 modified corsa with a 1.6 ecotec engine in. but not sure if its got uprated brakes on.
what brakes should i grab?
stick with the nova ones or get a set off on of the corsa's?
should i just get the calipers or calipers and disks?
any help please, i have no idea with brakes lol

Ahh, if it's just seized pistons you might be able to free them off by pushing them back in and out a few times, also the edges of the pad backings might have corroded and need cleaning, same goes for the pad carriers.
If they're still useless go for the 1.2 corsa ones, they'll be the ate type (seperate carrier and caliper) which your's should be. Discs should be the same size I think.
You'll need a 10mm allen-key bit to fit onto a big breaker bar or torque wrench to get the carriers off, them bolts are fappin tight!

nah my brakes are completely nackered lol already tried freeing the calipers but nothing. and fitted new pads 18 miles ago :@
damn i had a 10mm Allen key bit to fit onto a socket wrench to do some work on my bike but took it back to halfords today as i had finished with it lol.
i read on another thread that someone had fitted 1.2 corsa b brakes but had to used a few washers to space the caliper out so it fits the disk properly. don't really want to do this, sounds abit of a bodge.

also... should i keep my original disks or get them off the car i get caliper off?
i don't know if their a matching pair, size wise?
probably making a fool of myself i know but i have no idea about brakes.

hmm, I'd have thought they would be exactly the same, might be wise to get the whoole lot then, or get some re-conditioned ones as said in other thread.

will they fit under these?
no they wont fit.
just get the brakes off the 1.2 corsa. They will be bayb "valver" calipers, I had them on my 1.2 ages ago and they worked a treat :D
You can get 256mm brakes, they will fit under the 3 spokes if you grind off a little bit.

Fitted 256mm brakes to mine last Sunday, three spoke alloys weren't even close. Would need a shed load grinding off, wouldn't even fit with 10mm spacers if that gives you an idea how much grinding would be needed.
Picking up some 15" tomorrow.
Go for the Corsa brakes mate. One of my old Nova calipers seized a month or two ago and I couldn't get it free'd up so I picked up Corsa calipers and brand new pads from my Vauxhall breakers.
The calipers do need washers, this is because the Nova caliper bolts are too long! I used two washers. This is pefectly fine, as long as you put the bolts back on as tight as they were when they came off (very tight).
If anyhting, the corsa brakes are better, but get the corsa discs too as my Nova discs are ever so slightly smaller than Corsa.

got the brakes off the modified corsa in the scrap yard today, their same size as my nova ones but about twice as thick and vented. also the callipers are alot bigger and better. ill get some pics up later and maybe someone could tell me what brakes they are.
cheers for all the help.
funky, you got the junior valver brakes... like nova GTE discs but proper calipers :D
236mm*20.
