Will an inlet manifold from a1200 carb engine bolt onto a 1200 injection (spi?) engine ? are the ports the same or are these the ones that have square / round ports ?
Basically, wanting to use a 1200 injection engine (block, head ect...) but bolt on the carb / inlet, what else would need changed if anything ?

Different ports.
Spi has square
Carb has cathedral

It will bolt on, but the ports are a mile off

Thought they might be different, possible to match the square ports on the carb inlet to the round ports on the head ?
Would it still actually run with unmatched ports ?

Aye, it will 99% run if the inlet ports at least seal against the head ports/inlet gasket, if you get me.
OBviously be way down on power though.

The square ports wont open up enough to match the inlet

The square ports wont open up enough to match the inlet

Not even enough to be able to get it to run 1/2 decent ?

Got a knackered 1200 carb motor and the chance of a cheap 1200 injection motor, was just wanting to get it running cheap as poss really, any ideas ?

Whats knackered on the 12 carb motor?

It should run ok, just way down on power.

Just check the inlet on the head though to make sure the ports dont overlap the head(air leak).

Also, the 1.2i motor wont have the hole for the fuel pump......

Bottom ends knocking like f**k, 1200 inj bottom end the same ?
