standard car only tho...?
My car is standard so yes!
How old id a car before its classed as a classic ?
Varies from company to company. Some treat any car as a "classic" (using that as a label for the policy type, i.e. second car, restricted mileage), whilst some are very picky about what cars are labelled "classics" and would probably hang up on you if you asked about putting a Nova on a policy as such lol
HIC and Flux will put Novas on classic policies, Sky do limited mileage second car policies (but don't call them a "classic" policy afaik).

Just got mine insured today £260 fully comp with HIC [classic policy] and £1000 agreed value [pending me sending photos of current condition]
I did well then, I got my GSi insured for £70, agreed valuse of £3,000 and a 2,000 mile limit so reading this makes me happy!!!

I went to the RHClassic link posted at the top.
I specified it was a 1984 Saloon L with a 1598cc engine and they quoted £97...

I tried that but not heard anything back from them yet and needed insurance to tax the car :(
EDIT - if its worth the switch I may cancel during the 14 day period as currently I've only got the 1.0l insured so I'll expect it will jump up with engine conversion and mods
