Can i use the bottom end out a 1.4sr in a gte?

I wouldn't have thought so, if your having trouble finding a 1.6 why not look in an astar/cavalier?

you can use it alright but to make it 1.6 ya have ta change pistons,con-rods and crank so try findin a 1.6!! :wink:
or if ya are on about wantin a 1.4 engine then this will run ok with the gte top half and ya will have a mpi 1.4. i built one like that a while back and it ran 100% ok.

i ment i have a gte and i can get 1.4 engine so use the 1.4 botton and the 1.6 top

u can, but u will be very very low on compression, and u wont be able to fit the temp sensor that goes into the back of the block,

i have a complete bottom end in my garage u can have, it just needs new bearing shells. from a GTE

its yours if you wanna pic it up

Jason i have found you a choice of 2 GTE engines, one has a gas flowed head and uprated cams or a bog standard jobbie give me a shout maybe sort something for next week.
