13sr to v6 in a week

just picked up my new nova c reg 1.3 sr not bad shell,
im gonna rip out the engine and slot a v6 in its place all before pvs
sounds nuts i know but i think i can manage it got all the bits i need already just a case of getting it all together in time
gonna start the strip down tomorow

right been flat out till now (rain stopped play) shel not a minter and it has been used as a track car so thts why im not bothering restoring it
but the engines out interiors out and theyre both sold
engine bay been completely stripped and stich welded engine trial fitted and isw back out for the shell to be painted in the morning.

just done the exhaust manifold and modified an old janspeed to fit and run twin exit just a bit of welding paint and refitting everything for pvs now
on course at the minhute only thing that may hold me back is the brakes im using a corsa servo and i havent got riound to seeing how im going to make it work yet or what kind of fittings i need for it

day 2 (today) trial fitted the engine and cleaned up a lot of bits before the rain came, had to spend te rest of the day getting it back towable so i can move it off my drive in the morning and put it into my garage to carry on the work there

nope lol I wish you all the luck, I've seen 16v conversions done over night so it is possible, I just can't see it being done complete with corsa brake servo, epas and a v6 all running in a week with no glitches

engine wasnt cold it had been running for a while by the time i went in and i have no idea what theyd do mate theyve never been, and it wasnt 3am when the vid was taken it was about 3 P,M

It was running the week before pvs but the engine wasnt in properly just mocked up kinda thing its back out now ready for it to be painted when i can get back into the garage

change it mate makes all the difference totally transforms the engine i drove the cally the engine came out of and was really unimpressed i havent driven the nova past the end of my street yet but what a difference standard fly was killing it
ive got a 2ltr fly and clutch lying round if you need one cheap

its a 13sr lump but its had bits put on it i think it was like it when i had it and it was crap no go in it at all

It has flat cambelt cover, no fuel pump, spi dizzy, spi inlet/tb/top box

no mate hasnt been abandoned far from it its in my uncles garage and hes away working at the minute and i cant get into his garage
ive been trying to get some of the bits i need sorted in the meantime my front panel came in the post few days ago and as we speak im finishing the downpipes cos they were fouling on the anti roll bars

fair enough thats your veccy but my engine is from a calibra, ie different inlet also i have a 2ltr flywheel and clutch on mine so it does rev a lot more freely thats why it sounds different, i can assure you that the engine is a v6 and as soon as the bays get painted and it goes back in ill take a proper vid and show you

haha muppet how does 3 plates no more than a few inches long make it a rot box, wise up

and engine has been put in and been removed twice now onc to get the mounts lined up and then to check all was ok, it got taken back out for the shell to be painted how hard is this to understand?
and as for it still being in bits for one i couldnt get at it for a while then i had knee surgery which im still recovering from so working on a nova with a splint from my heel to my hip wasnt top on my list of prioritys im afraid

couldnt tell you at the minute ive no driven it when it was fitted it didnt have no front suspension or anything fitted, it was just to actually get it in there, get it running and make sure nothing rubbed or knocked etc before i painted it

well its should be a breeze lol so far once id welded the mount lower its all been more or less the same other than modding the exhaust to clear the anti rollbar, spacers wouldnt have given enough clearance, even wiring was the same from what i can remember. if you decide not to and want to sell the v6 motor give me a shout im looking for another one to do a few things to reay for next summer,

300 bhp thats roughly what im gonna try get this up to by next year not on this motor though, got plans for another lol, you driven yours yet?

If this 25XE Doesnt weigh much more than a 20XE then this is going to be a great car but if it weighs a ton its just going to ruin it and a normal XE would be better :confused:

its a c25xe, its about 20bhp up standard and its up on torque, plus i have lighter flywheel in there and a 4 bar pressure reg, it wont take a lot to get it to 200 bhp, but the main reason i want this over a c20 is how many c25's do you see, then compare that to the amount of c20's
