speedo and taco not workin nova 1.2 luxe

I have just bought a nova 1.2 luxe and the speedo does not work and the milage counter. i have stripped the dash. the lead is plugged into the back and the needle is not broken i really need some help!!! please

the wire is connected gear box end as well on the clock end there is a little spring that is loose in the cable
