Dad's got a large old jerry can that will be of great use to me, but it's had diesal in it before. Whats the best way to clean it out before filling with petrol?

Bit of petrol, slosh it about, pour away somewhere safe...
Diesel is no harm to a petrol engine. (in small quantity)
aslong as its not a CAT equipt petrol engine ;)

1.6 on carbs.......... (or a 1.1 Fiesta) LOL
its for the 1.6 on carbs, so no cat.
Why didnt i clean it out when petrol was cheap(er) :wall: lol
how much diesel is in the can, and how big is it?
It's empty now, probably only had a litre or two in there anyway.
It's one of these:

Roughly two foot tall....
fill it with petrol. slosh about and chuck it in your tank
will give the valve stems a bit of extra lube :D
ideal, wasn't too sure how diesal 'reacted' to high compression, carbs, etc... I'll just give it a quick swill out to be safe. Cheers :thumb:
