dumb question,
ive neva known my cooling fan come on,but then again my car neva gets out(it either dont go out or its cold outside and i drive a wee bit 2 fast).
so where abouts on the gauge should the fan switch on?
i know its a serpret circut from the dail but where does it normal come on?

Once it gets to half on the gauge its warm. If your sat in traffic or just tickin over then occationally it will go just over half, the fan will cut in then the dial will move back down to half.

the engine sends water to circulate in the radiator when it gets to the 1st mark, (not including the cold mark) and the fan kicks in on the second mark, which is the mark at the top, the fan should then go off when the temp gets back to around the 1st mark again.
if u ever get to the 3rd mark i would advice turning the engine off, and then turn the ignition back on, and listen for the fan, if it doesnt come on then its shagged
