View Full Version : Where does this pipe go ? Diesel pump, 1.5 TD
Anyone any ideas as to where this pipe connects up to ? it did have a small 90 degree pipe coming off it (pointing upwards) but can't seem to find anywhere for it to go, it comes off one of the fuel pipes on the diesel pump.

Come on guys, i thought this would have been a pretty simple one for some of you Diesel lovers ??
Looking on EPC, it looks like the "fuel overflow valve pipe"
Dont say where it goes though

an over-flow would suggest to me a connection to the return pipe.
OK, so its an over flow pipe, any ideas as to where it attatches ?
Theres already a flow and return pipe conected between the pump and car.
Bump!
Anyone fancy having a look at their TD? Need this urgently.

Ask Nick R1ch or Burgo, id imagine they'll know as theyve had a few TD's
Post up a picture of the whole engine lads, I'll look at mine when I get home.
Here's another pic of the old block if it's any better...

You can't get a decent picture of it on the new engine as its half hidden behind the inlet manifold.
No problem mate, I'll take a look later for you.

Any luck?
Can anyone else help with this?
Just need someone to have a look at their TD and possibly take a pic???
Jesus I clean forgot about this, I've just had a quick look and cant find it. Its obviously hidden behind something in the engine bay, what comes off to get a look at it?
Mine is a 15D, not Turbo, should it still be the same? I also have a TD Cav here if this helps?
It's hidden behind the cambelt cover underneath the inlet manifold. You might need an inspection mirror to get a decent look I think...

I'd assume it would be the same on a 1.5D?
Ok, on my 15D it feeds into either the rear of the head or the inlet manifold. From your picture, it seems to have a rubber hose over it, and from there travels over and goes as mentioned above. Possibly a return?

iirc it goes into the back of the inlet manifold

it will have a rubber pipe connecting it to the fuel leak off pipes on the injectors.
The metal loops that go around and join the four injectors together!
