Aye keep it as a Mk1 Nova, don't see too many about now
That wee GSi you were talkin' about passed us when we were in the Nova again lol

Keep it mk1, just de-chav it.
Burn the mirrors, get some original non-smoothed bumpers & give the grille mesh to the local pet shop.
Theres a nice car in there somewhere.
I disagree, straighten it, fit the bumpers and skirts and you should have a very tidy little motor.
But loose the Mk2 Spoiler and get a Wrap around item.

can anyone tell me if this is right  .the passenger chasie leg runs straight to the front .but the drivers chasie leg runs at a slight angel outwards:confused: if u can understand thatlol
has it had an XE fitted at sometime? this might be why it runs at a slight angle due to it being modded for alternator clearance???????
vaughanmc
30-05-08, 10:59 PM
I'm sure it had a small block engine with 40's on it at some stage
Is there not a mod needed for the alternator with this setup ?
greg1.4
31-05-08, 08:25 AM
yes you need to lower the alternator but dont have to cut the chassis away like you do with a redtop..
looks like another nice project stevie!
sure you will make it look good whatever you do..

Check for signs of seam splitting and paint cracking up on the chassis legs towards the bulk head. It does look very very bent. Can you get a few pics of the cross member on for us? Its hard to say if its fooked or not from these pictures

Looks like the passenger side chassis leg has been bent down. Get a pic from head on from about a foot from the ground. Im sure if could be pulled out on a jig. Whats the line like around the back of the passenger front arch and around the door shut compared to the drivers?
stevie78
01-06-08, 09:20 PM
doors shut spot on m8.in the middel of the arch on the wing it was kinked out a bit.what do you think of the chasie legs is the drivers ment to run at that slight angel?

It maybe look a wee bit out of shape because the passenger side is caved in a wee bit
Once theres a new front panel on it might look OK

Nice looking wee car Stevie, shes solid like :)
Rover Hurricane Grey would be your best bet for all the bumpers etc
the "proper" paint code for the bumpers is L107
Thats according to my mate Ali who works at a Vauxhall garage anyway...

NEVER Turn a mk1 into a mk2
how come im thinking about doing it :D
Cuz you're politicially incorrect.
Stevie, thats looking fantastic mate. But Can I make 1 suggestion?
Find a Grey Wraparound Spoiler to replace your Roof Tip Spoiler. You're onto a winner then. Well done.

I was down to see him yesterday, he has a wraparound original spoiler for it ;)
Perfect. Fantastic job mate.
