Evening all,

I was thinking about fitting some new plugs to the nova... What plugs are people running? or what would people recommend?

I've been toying between Bosch Super 4's or NJK Iridium IX#

Cheers guys :thumb:

Standard ngk;s are fine.
Bosch S4's are uncool.

Just get them from vauxhall. Other plugs can cause more problems than they are worth

SBD run NGK BCPR7ES in their engines - got mine for £1.90 each. If there good enough for SBD they'll do for me!

Xe's seem to hate any spark plugs apart from standard NGK's.

Just found them on ebay for £1.30 each and £2.75 postage(4)

Any good?

I haven't received mine yet, mines 187bhp and has a sligt misfire so wanted to replace the plugs with something a bit better, aswell as the rest of my ignition components.
Will let you know what there like when I get them.

I paid for delivery, then found my local motor factors could get them next day for the smae price without delivery
Got to be worth a o for 6 quid ish.

NGKs win for me too. Also use them in the Celica.

Bosch Super4 are absolutely fecking useless.

I might speak to my mate at eurocarparts and see if he can do me a good price :)

GM plugs are more than upto the job... and silly dirt cheap.

No point dicking about spending lots of time looking/asking about when you can simply go into your local dealer and in 5 mins be out the door with £10 of plugs....

Mail order/getting mates rates is all well and good but when you factor in the time spent fecking about, its usually not worth it

If GM plugs are up to the job, I don't mind running them... Just haven't owned the car long enough or put it through its paces ont he track to know. Thats why i asked for peoples opinions :)

my omega ate a few plugs, I put cheapy motorfactor ones in (not NGK) and it still ran crap. I put GM plugs in and wooo hoooo she was back on form.

I only use GM plugs on the VX too (as do the guys with S/C conversions to 260bhp lol)

NGK's or GM. Champion are shoite according to my Dad.

Gapping them correctly is important aswell dont forget. I just bought NGK twin tip ones at Halfords for my smallblock XE, cost less than a tenner with TC.

twin tip

Bleugh. Stick with the single tip ones. The more tips there are, the more issues you get in my experience lol Sayiong that, the smallblock may not be quite as picky as the C20.

Single pin plugs from vauxhall. Its what the engine was designed for and they arent expensive, no point wasting money on 'special' plugs that do nothing apart from maybe make it run crap

Ive got twin tips on my smallblock xe too.
They are standard fit to these engines. Vauxhall themselves supply twin tips for them.

You can fit a single, ngk plug instead, but i cant remember the part number of them.
