hhmmm flame red nova......
was at trax, cash in hand, didnt know which to get, so i came away with money intact,
which was
A) clever to avoid disapointment later on when i wanted the others
B) stupid as they were ?30 including base plates!
so
what you reckon guys?
wana go chrome, so dtm or m3s???
used to have a wallpaper pic on my computer of a lush red nova, with chrome singlewiper, splashing through a puddle in a car park, also with chrome m3s. but since seeing chris wards chrome dtm cups, i think theyre cool.

i reckon dtm, but don't do chrome, do them red
whats the ones ians got on his car?
saw several on novas at trax - some on little storks, some that bolted straight on and were oval - then the original ones?
I like the original ones - although the saorkey ones look finky.
Dont go chrome - stand out too much and will attract "unwanted" attention if you get my drift...

You can get the one's Ade's on about from demon Tweeks. Proper racing ones them and they have my seal of approval too.
But stop messing about, get ?260, and buy some Bomex Civic mirrors like on 'my' nova (see pic below). Never before seen on a nova. Before.
My mate had some for his 205 and i was gonna get some (modified) to fit on my Nova. But i can't be arsed now. Plus, you could probably 'fashion' some out using a set of DTM's and some fibreglass/filler.
So, go on. Off you go, pilfer my idea. It's not copywright protected you know.

i think you should go for the mk1/2 escort look and bolt some chrome shaving mirrors to the very front of your wings, it used to work in the 70's and today is all about retro

Out of the DTM and M3 I prefer the Dtm's. But dont get either, go with cool marty's choice, the bomex ones. They look the nuts.
If not modify the mirrors you get. My mates got a purple renault 5 (with split rear window) . He got a set of m3 mirrors and choped the legs off and mounted it back on the base plate.
It looked alot better than I thought it would.
If you like the sound of the bomex mirrors but cant afford them. Get some Dtm ones and add a bit of fibre glass and filler. A MR2 at western wheels did that and looked cool.

There's loads of people that are making custom bumpers and spoilers for their motors, but no one bothers when it comes to mirrors. It's a shame, and there's only the M3 or DTM to chose from (well a few more, but nothing worth bothering with).
At least cut/drill some vents and mesh them, if you can't think of anything better. (say's the guy with plain DTM's  , though that was going to be for the time being -until i experimented with making my own 'Bomex' style one's, or got the real deal. Don't know if i'll keep the car long enough for it now. )

Actually, why bother?
Back in the day, the first guy who fitted a set of M3 mirrors to a non-m3 motor was being different, and cool. He was the daddy! And now everyone's got some so it's no longer cool.
However, things go round in circles.
Complain about them being too common and etc like the rest, and sit on your arse while everyone else goes and changes theirs to something 'new, exciting and original'. Then, you'll be the only one (or at least few) left with a set of m3 mirrors, and once again, you'll be the one standing out. Being different. Just tell them 'it's retro'.
Let's face it - they look damn good, and that's why they're so popular. There's not much point in changing them just for the sake of being different, aspecially when for the price you could get a new front spoiler, and maybe they may not even necessarily look 'better'.
So, whether it's 'done to death' or not, if you like the look, do it. Go chrome if that's what you like. Infact, go m3 on one side and dtm on the other (or don't bother, coz that IS crap).

Also, if you must be different, have a look at mirrors on motorbikes. You may be able to get something cool and different that you can use, albeit modified.

Iys wether you want to spend the money. If you did I'm pretty sure it would look fecking mental.

Yeah I'm full of ideas, but who isn't?
And at the end of the day it does come down to money. There more i spend on the Nova, the more i'll lose when it comes to selling it, and the less i'll have for my next car.
Otherwise I'd be getting the Veilside kit for the new MR2 (yellow mr2, as seen on the front cover of Max Power) and grafting the fucker onto my nova. It's only just under ?3,000.
Anyway, i should shut up 'coz this post was about the choice of chrome dtm's or m3's.
