Right my nova needs a new wiring loom thanks to some dodgy alarm fitting and when it had twin fogs it was a bodge and all the wiring is shagged..

Whats the best loom to get?

The car isa 1.2SPi atm but will be having an engine change..

would i just be better of getting a GSi/GTE loom? or a 1.?carb loom, as the SPI have a **** load of uneeded wires?

also if i got a GTE loom would it be just the Headlight plugs id need to change?

Cheers Martin

Are you needing to replace the interior loom as well? If so, most of the switches from Mk1 > Mk2 are different, so best to stick with the right age of loom at least.

I chose a 1.2 carb car loom for mine... Had all the required wires for the interior + lighting, and extend it yourself to match the requirements of the engine loom. Nothing left over, nice and tidy and easy to source!

I've found the SPI looms are massive and you'll have left-over wires after engine swaps.

just use the best loom you can find, a carb is the best.

pretty much any mk2 loom other than a SRi will be ok. If you plan on doing a MPi engine of any sort then a GSi would be best as it will fuel pump cables, but theyre easy to replicate.

yeah it will be an MPI engine.. and will be the full loom i am swapping

cheers for the help lads.. will keep my eye out for a mk2 carb/gsi loom
