ok i would like 2 build some custom front door builds and would like ure help with wot speakers 2 have. ideally i would like them 2 be 6 to 7 inches with tweeters. also i would prefer them 2 be kenwood 2 match the rest of my speakers but this isn't essential. wot do reckon i should go with im not lookin 2 spend loads but want some quality for me hard earned. also i would like the tweeters mounted in the a pillars but not sure how 2 do this coz my a pillars don't look like they have covers. any help on the above would be great

for the front a pillers i would get yourself a set of covers (come in most mk2s as standard)

you can then make a small build for the tweeter, and sand/smooth it, blending it in to the moluding, then spray or cover it in your choice before fitting.

something like this is very easy and i found quite fun ( i smoothed my own tailgate handle and although not perfect - sprayed with cans, was a bit hard to get VERY even/smooth finnish) and also did the same for tweeters in the front and also a set in the middle B posts. very easy and yet very effective. i covered these in very thin coloured cloth as it would go all around the grooves and curves.

as for the door builds, i havent personally ventured into that area yet, as i dont wanna chop about my door cards, but then again, my car is loud enough for me anyhow! sorry i cant hep on that score.

thinking about it...

i do have two sets of kenwood tweeters, one set of alpine tweeters, and some round kenwood & jbl speakers for sale if you are interested, and could also grab you a set of pillar covers of my old car.

for anyone reading i also have a set of JBL 6x9s if theres any interest?

i havent got a pair of crossovers, however i think maplins do some for a tenner.
