Well, I'm glad most of the crying is over and it's all laughs when driving lol

Did some more cleaning on the white (Josefien) and the Michalak, well euh, yeah, she's under the cover atm as I have some other things to do before I continue...

The Steffan 7 and 8x14's have left the cave as they were too wide on the back (for legal aspect) but I will see them again at a meet later this year...

I had a set of Smoor's (Rota 7 and 8x13) back in the days and they came back to refresh them...

These were badly conditioned back in 2011:

Refurbished and polished them for the new owner and painted in red...

A few weeks back, they returned as they would shift owner and he wanted a new color on them:

Next set is up (BBS SEIM 7x15 ET25) and need to get these done as quickly as possible as other sets are awaiting....

Thanks guys. Yeah, I'm a bit of a whore and not only at work lol

Changed all the bushes to FloFlex-ones last weekend... Wasn't happy with the handling from the front for quite some time now so started on Sunday and finished up on Monday.
Changed all the bushes from the front, changed the springs as I had long springs on shortened dampers and lined the steering. Also finally installed my snap-off again as it was collecting dust since 2007
Pics will follow this evening but took it for a short spin and the handling is starting to be better...

Ah, so you think I made it back!? lol

Yeah, the 450km's were almost a maiden voyage but it was awesome!

Can't wait to get this one finished properly to go to all the other places I still want to see next year's!

The most memorable moment for me was the crossing of the border on my way home. It took 7 years for this car to return!

Yeah, it was a great day but no more wishlist for me... I got all I want at the moment... Or maybe.... Just maybe... lol

Did the math and I have a fuel cons. of around 7.2 liters/ 100km's... (so something like this?: 7.2 liters/100 km = 39.2334634 miles/gallon) Not bad IMO

And suddenly... Found it through the German Corsa-A forum: the real JW-Motorsport coilover kit that was built by H&R for them. It's an up-side-down system and you can feel massive difference! :thumb:

So after 120 nuts and bolts of the OZ's and tightening them to correct torque, seal them up, new tyres, coilovers on and all bushings changed, this is how she looks...

But the fun didn't last that long... Went for an oldtimer-rally and on the road, the oilpressure gage statrted having his own life... In the end, it was only the cable that was f*cked but it was a worrying moment when you're pushing then engine a bit further then your normal Sunday-drive :d

So, the end of the season is here now and the Michalak will be stripped once more for the final respray and some things to be added here and there... So more to come ;)

Wheels are looking good, I like the polished/red look.

H&R kits are said to be very good. Highly rated by VW people, apparently. Nice find!

Not another Niek, only the 2nd time lol Just to get the final touches right so I can sleep a bit better...

Yeah, the H&R kit is very well, and certainly for the age. I even got the original receipt and Tuv papers enclosed. Only the rear dampers are missing but I can get them new. But I want something elso for the back as a Michalak has a completely different load in the back so I want to go for some adjustables there.

The wheels: IMO they look how I always wanted them. But according to my mom... (who is 63 and has a Corsa C Sport with 3-spoke alloys lol) She finds them horrible...

Sorry to keep you guys waiting here but so many things at hands atm... But it's all getting there...

During the winter I have mainly done work to the house that I'm rebuilding but between it all, I had a few moments to install the Quaife quick rack as I still was searching for an issue with the wobbly steering...
Also bought a Mountney steering wheel with the decent hub and did a complete re-run of all steering components. No pictures of that but in the end it's solved... For now... It feels alot more fun driving, the handling improved alot.

Also got my hands on an interesting set of wheels (yep, after some 20 sets on the Michalak, I guess I'm a Wheel-Whore now :d)

Well, to give you all a little report after some hectic days/weeks...

Most parts were in on Friday night... Got a call from my painter as he still got my backplate to do... And he couldn't get it ready he said... Euhm :wtf: But we still had Saturday so he came over and finished it up... Even painted it in time to get the car finished for Spa...

Needless to say, this was an epic day which I will probably never forget... After all these 8 years, problems, mistakes, misery, blood, sweat, beers, women, people thinking I was crazy (they still do) starting of with the piece of scrap I bought... This was the moment where I could say; my Michalak made it...
But more epic moments will follow... Surely...

Next up will be some detailing and surely: wheels lol

@ Marcel: no Billing yet this year. I have a local (Opel) meet I am obbliged to go to and we have our neighbours BBQ here too that weekend (no ducks in this area!) lol But 2016 I will, even if I have to push it over there, go to Billing with the Michalak. Something else: are you planning to go to Risse in the next months? As I want to finally have my dyno runs there... But I'm in no hurry ;)

@totalnova: thanks, the car was already driving and had lot's of fun but now it's at a point where I am proud to show her and not turn my head when somebody looked at it ;)

BTW you Belgians can now have personalised plates for €1,000. Do you think it's worth having one for the Michalak? I for one think this is much much better than the pathetic Gatso-friendly yellow plates we get in clog country. :p

Thanks Niek, yes, if a car passes the "cobblestones" test... It passes all! lol It was 3 km's of this misery that we had to go through so you can imagine that we were still rattling even on a flat tarmac... :wtf:

The plate.... Nice things we see these days on our roads: Tina, 00-00-00 (don't know why anybody spend a grand on 00's)... A €1,000 is alot atm as I'm also renovating my "little" house... But if I would make it to the age of 40, I could ask it for my B-day :p What's with the black and white plates? Can't you request one like that in NL?

Yeah, the guys with the Porsche's and Ferrari's had more to bother with driving there... I thought the Michalak was low but those guys had even more "kissing-ground-with-exhaust-and-oilpan" issue's there... But we all made it in the end (I think lol )

Yeah, the speedo, who needs it on a track :d So more motivation to get the lcd thing installed one of the upcomming weeks... The car has to be ready again in a "cleaned" status for the last Opel meeting here in Belgium in July...

What's with the black and white plates? Can't you request one like that in NL?

Black on white plates are only used for small trailers and bicycle racks in the Netherlands if that's what you mean.
Also, black on white plates are used as temporary plates round our end, like when importing/exporting a motor vehicle or when the original yellow plates are missing.

In the UK yes, silver or white on black is for pre 1975 cars.

White on dark blue plates in the Netherlands were issued on pre 1978 vehicles. After that, we got the dreaded black on yellow plates. Running classic (white on dark blue) plates on newer vehicles is illegal. Well, it's only illegal when you get nicked by pc plod. :d

25-08-2007, 10 years ago on this day, was the first day I saw Micheline in real life... Also the day that our adventure began...
After all these years we had lot's of fun and good timer and there are many more to come!

Since Francorchamps in 2015 we have been to many places. Francorchamps was in 2017 again on the agenda and Zolder aswell...

But the absolute highlight this year must have been the Budapest rally (www.budapestrally.org (http://www.budapestrally.org)) with almost 4000 km's of fun and pleasure with not a single break-down! Take off was in Bussels, stops in Hinterzarten (D), Sankt Moritz (CH), Stelvio (I), Lago D'Idro (I), Venize (I), Pliviche (K), Balatonsee (H), Budapest (H).
