Hi All, A few good mates of mine are well into the subaru scene and we always attend this event every year,The weather was pretty good and quite sunny It was just a shame about the wind. However Its good to see what people are preparing on the subaru scene for totb etc, Some of the main competitors were there today including: Lateral,Roger clarke,scooby clinic etc however no Andy forrest or Zen today??? Hope they make totb! Anyhow plenty of pics for you all below, Check out the amazing Roger Clarke car! now using F1 style jacking system,carbon wheels and some other mighty expensive toys! Shows what you can do with an unlimited budget! Shame we dont all have one! Some special cars there not just subarus Enjoy. :)

Sorry Phil... We didnt stay until the end so I dont know the results! I think the Roger Clarke car was doing rather well ( 9.4 qtr's etc???) Plenty of pics of the Granny for you though! What a weapon that is! I think he was rather upsetting some of the subaru boys!

Its always at TOTB as is the best sounding car there by a long way. Its also about the only car there with full interior and still pulls flat 10s on the 1/4 mile.

Can remember watching it go round a tight handling course with the back end all over the shop.

i take it there wasnt much or if anything that beat roger clarks scoob,read quite alot of info about his machine mags etc and its a proper weapon well it would have to be to keep up with simon norris and his mates love his car,but if i could pic one it would be this:

Spark plugs are a pain, about an hour and half but apart from that they're easy enough.

One of my close friends has a 340hp Bug-eye. It's a brilliant car, but tuning them properly is expensive !

TBH it's not expensive for what you get in comparison to all other manufacturers, it's just expensive compared to what you're used to!

It's just not like Vauxhalls or VW's in general, where an engine swap is so easy/cheap to do in comparison to tuning your existing lump! Tuning a 1.6 to xe level would cost more than an xe, so most people do xe.

I've just spent £1200 on a turbo-back 3" stainless exhaust/warlbro/440's/ECUTEK management/live remapping and got 280bhp/305lb/ft torque from my uk2000 classic impreza. If you had a nova (already fitted with) a LET you'd be looking at around half the price to get it to similar levels, but you'd have spent twice as much already on the engine/box/shafts/cooler/stainless exhaust potentially.

The main engine swap for Impreza are sti9 2.5 engines, more power and torque but you're talking £2500 just for a bare engine from a scrappy! Just not economical to do!

Next stage for me is a TD05 or a vf38 (turbo's), fuel regulator, sti8 or front mount intercooler and another remap, costing another grand or so to get to 340bhp/340 lb/ft torque, but then you looking at big clutch etc,

It looks as though the days of Dragon transfers & decals on Subaru's is over. Perhaps I might appreciate them now.

Some good pics though & I have to agree most of them look pretty handy if only judging by the under bonnet hardware.
