nova 950kg and 165bhp
golf not sure of weight is just road spec and 150bhp. thanks.
the novas gonna win hands down then
unless the golf weighs 550kg lol
Try it and find out.
Novas are great fun and the XE's are nippy. The best way to get an estimate is to work out the BHP/Ton of each car to give you an idea.
Anything else is just pure guess work and a bit pointless since you are trying to compare modifyed vs standard or modifyed vs modifyed.
This is the second thread i've seen in the 'Nova vs ????' catagory this evening and I hope it's the last since it's one of the things I dislike about other forums (I shall not mention which).

im sure the nova would win, he went to overtake so threw it into third he got beside me then pulled back in. says he was just (toying) with me and that he didnt want to roast his car. ha!

No need to say sorry, that comment was not directed at you but to readers in general. Just wanted to gently mention it.
The TDI's are quicker than the 'GTI' by far (both the 130's and 150')
A 1600 GTE would give it a scare tbh!lol
950kg Nova? Thats pretty heavy!!
The advantage the Golf has is the Turbo, might be slow to take off but when it spools up, its gonna go like a rabbit on steroids.

this reminds me of the "today I raced..." threads a while back. I had a good battle with an aston martin. Wonder if I can find it.

These threads might be annoying for some when you are comparing a nova ??? Vs stand/modded blah blah blah, but they are ever so entertaining listening to peeps view (rabit on steriods). Good time pass
BOOO to whoever closed Simp's Audi thread.
Hahaha the nova would leave a standard mk4 gti wondering what day it isMk4 gti's are lardy and slow, the only decent-ish one is the anniversary (180bhp) but even they arent nowt to write home about hahaha. They do have a saving grace though, the 1.8 20v Turbo mmmmm strong and can get good figures from with not a lot of effort. The one i had in my polo started life with 180 prancing ponies, and with just an emerald FM ecu i could get 256 mwaahahaha, i kept it at 234 though to save the internals hahaha

NovaXE would eat a Mk4 GTi for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even a little midnight snack! I been out playing the last few nights in mine, wasted a 330Ci and a Lexus GS430 to about 135ish......
