I beat one with my old gte, they're a close match though, just over rev it a tad and you'll be fine! :thumb:

Just dont crash!! You may have a chance, more power but more weight.

Last I heard they had 100bhp same as novas do.

Dunno which model you're referring to but I raced a 2000 model, and we were very close through all the gears.

A cammed up gsi or gte with good breather mod would beat a zetec s with good driver skills aswell

His car is a 99, with induction kit and back box, with not a lot of track experience
My GSI is striped out, has a 4 branch, no cat, straight through zorst and panel filter, and ive always had good results with any other car ive had down the strip
so what do you think?

If its the car im thinking of i had a race with one when i had my sri engine and he didnt get much on me if anything! Are they 16v or 8v?

My GSi struggled against a 1250 zetec (upto 4th gear), so I dont fancy your chances against a Zetec S tbh.

My std GSi used to feel a bit lame & non-revvy but used to go well as a std engine, equally as well as my mates & went off the clock.

I say it'll be close. Having it stripped will help your case.

16v same spec as a corsa gsi lump, yeah mate you'll take him with those mods no worries. :thumb:

Get someone to film it if you can to show how older cars are still faster lol

The Fiesta Zetec S is a funny car to have, 1.6 16v 100bhp, with superb handling, but straight line speed is a funny one. You have to get the take off just so otherwise the car doesnt pick up until your mid way into second gear. My ex had one, well still has one and after many time driving one i reckon that driven properly you gonna have you work cut out, but just do it by a rizzla paper.

Maybe. Weight would be in its favour!
