Engine managment problems??

I have just got my nova back on the road after a long 4 weeks of trying to get it ready for p.v.s and now my engine management light has come on , As far as i no the only thing that is not really working is the tempreature guage as it just goes hot to cold continously ,

Any ideas what it could be ??

did you flash the code faults? thats what its there for like.

the temp guage on the dash is seperate to the ecu temp sender anyway so thats prob nothing to do with it.
it does however sound like you have an airlock in the cooling system ( every time air passes by the guage it will raise temp(or lower cant remember!) and then the opposite once passed ).
Is the engine running ok?, ie: no missfires/flatspots etc?
it could be something very simple but until you read what the code is you'll never know!
