What voltage coil - 12V? Can you modify an old starter motor and use the contacts out of that?

Whats it for (being nosey)?

Hi mate its for my glow plugs, dont have the controller box so im gonna run them off a switch and relay.

Did it before with a 70amp glow plug relay but the wiring got crossed over and blew :(

You could use a double pole isolator with a contact rating of 100A and forget the relay. Similar to the main switch on a consumer unit. Might look a bit odd mounted on your dash though but readily available.

Don't know if you are aware but if you find two 40A relays of the same design you can parallel the contacts to achieve an 80A rating. (or more in parrallel if needed).

When i adapted my Battery location I couldnt find a blade fuse that was larger than 60amps, so i used a megafuse

Got it from my local LSUK centre, but you can get them online, they go up to stupid amps (125, 250, 500 etc etc)

He wants a way of switching the current as appose to finding a protective device. I'm suggesting an isolator of adequate rating as a quick fix to get going.

15 quid for a fuse lol!

I got a 70 amp relay off fleabay for 4 quid.Got it delivered to work and i was taking the mick out of a lass when i was getting into my car, must have knocked the relay on the floor and ran over it! lol

Tested it last night and it still works thankfully though its abit crushed

And i wanted a relay for my glow plugs as i dont have them linked to the ignition as i have no controller box.If i put the glow plugs straight to a switch it couldnt hack the ampage

It would have to be a be a big switch mate to handle that kind of ampage
