i am fitting an external gte/gsi pump on my mk1 sr. i believe the gte/gsi models have captive nuts so i presume i will need to drill holes for mine, is this true?
also does anyone have a pic of a pump in situe so i have a rough idea where it goes.
ive tried the search and cant find any pics.
Look in Kieths project thread
Bolts to the chassis rail, just in front of the rear tow eye.
Best way is to fit a couple of M8 riv-nuts, then the bracket will bolt straight on.

do you have the tools to insert riv nuts?

In my WIP thread it shows my pump cradle & the inserts. I got new ones from Vauxhall & drilled & filed the odd shape holes to fit them.

You file/drill hole to suit. (Like a round hole with 2 extra wings) push in the insert & turn 1/4 turn so they locate & cant be pulled out. This then leaves a thread in the centre.
