SBD may be able to give you some advice on this?

They only do stuff for 16V vauxhalls, anyone else got any ideas?

How about giving the starter 24V from 2 batteries (still running 12V for the rest of the car).

A mate has his high comp all steel X-flow set-up like that. Standard starter.

Just an idea...

why do you need a high power starter motor anyway ??

I'm guessing it's a whore compression wise? lol

Gary, one of the PAC class 6s uses 2 Subaru impreza batteries for 24v starting as they are fairly small yet powerful. It starts perfectly every time. Can you do that in 2?

Renault 5 turbos often have this as a 'mod'. Its quite amusing on a tech spec. Maybe a motor rewinding place could custom 'wind' you something.

I want to stick to a single battery. Its not mega high compression, just for peace of mind really as my starter seems a bit sluggish sometimes.

is the battery in good working order ??

a normal starter motor will be fine, maybe just get a new one if your that bothered about it but a high power one is only good for bragging rights down the pub imho

got 2 earth straps. Battery is a new one and reads as strong with my battery optimiser. I'd go for bragging rights down the pub if I can find one !

What about bragging rights in the beer tent? lol

Seriously though, I know someone who might be able to suggest an alternative from the vaux parts bin [if there is one] for the 1300, going to see him this week and I'll ask for you.

I'll give you a PM :thumb:

I thought Beer tents were no longer... its just the tent where people congrigate and sup copious amounts of beer insted :-)

Keep us posted on what you find out.
