idle problems

im having problems with my gsi idle i goes up to 1300 rpm them goes back down to 900rpm when just ticking over, have tryed adjusting the idle positioning sensor but it keeps on happening.

when driving the car everything is ok running really well just idle is the problem any ideas???

idle air control valve or maybe a air leak on inlet manifold?

where abouts is the idle control valve? is it at the bottem of the inlet.

i will have to go and check on my gsi tomorrow
i think its on the far side of the throttle body

My LET is doing exactly the same but only worse. Going to clean the Idle Control Valve and order a new Coolant Temp Sensor tomoro. Should sort it.

clean your idle control valve, its at the back of the block, bolted near the top pulley, should have a pipe going into either end and a plug on it.

check for any splits in the hose going from the AFM to the throttle body.
