nova outers with astra inners cv joints

right i bought a set of driveshafts for nova conversion and got engine in running etc so got shafts and am told they fit astra inner cv joints.... anyone know what ones... the end of the shaft that fits the supposedly astra inner cv joint is 25 spline if this helps ?

Thats a wierd one, I think normal nova ones are 28 spline inners, and the ones that'll fit the big CV's are 22 splines. The big CV's I mention are mk2 cav 1.6 ones.

yer bought a pair off 22spline inners of chris astley but they didnt fit and after i counted the splines on the inner side of the shaft they 25 spline and was told of member on migweb who i bought them off that they fit astra inner cv joints only i dont know what ones lol

as i stated on mig web, take the cv off so u r left with bare shafts, exactly how many splines are on each end???

thats what they were advertised as on mig web, have sent him pm to try find out what inners but he aint been online since i sent him a message

right, 28 spline end you should be using standard nova outers. the inner end with 25 spline you should be able to go to your local motor factors, they should be off of a big block cavalier/astra/calibra. get them to look though there book, it will have listed 25 inner splines and 34 outer splines

if they cant match anything up by looking through their cv book then you best be looking to get your money back on the shafts..

right so they should have a book and have a load of inner cv joints in and look for either astra/ cavalier or calibran and it will say 25 splines hopefully and the outers on the astra/cavalier/calibra will be 34 correct ?

will any 25 spline inner cv fot the f20 box tho ? or will it only be certain astras ??? or is that why you say 34 splines as the 34 splines outers only come on the astra shafts that have big block gearbox gearboxes e.g f16 f20 ?

the big block gearboxes all have the same splines think its 34 if i remember correctly, that will be on the bit of the cv that goes into the gearbox. they will look through the book for say a calibra inner cv joint and look for one which has 25 splines on its inner side (the side that the shaft will push into)

and yes every motor factors wil have a book showing each cv joint and its splines
