Drum Brake Problems

Hey wandered if anyone could help

I have recently just changed my rear axle as the old one cracked right through, but now am having problems with the handbrake adjustment.
Have the drums off at the moment but on either side will the adjuster work.
I have replaced nearly every piece with spares to try and elimate the problem but still no luck.
Any ideas anyone?

turn the adjuster wheel with a screwdriver, that's all I've ever had to do on any car.

Yea i will do if thats what it comes down to
but they used to work before i changed the axle.

Auto adjusters rarely work. Poke them round with a screwdriver flat.

glad its a fact bout the auto adjusters, cause mine never worked either! lol

cheers for the tips guys.
Have now got them working.
Just cleaning everything down and greased all springs etc
and it all works nicely.
