no spark

Hello to you. Ive been strugling to get a spark on my 2ltr conversion, for a while now. Its had the cavalier engine loom fitted along with the engine.
everything is earthed correctly, it has the switch live along with the permanent live, everythings there, and its all been fitted correctly. new fuel pump relay (all though i doubt this would affect it) new crank sensor, plugs, leads, dizzy cap and arm. still no spark! if you take the main ht lead from the coil and test with a multi meter turn the ignition on and it gets 12v, connect it to a spark plug crank the engine over, still no spark!
what do you think the best thing to try next is? any other sugestions?

yh sorry my fault, 2.0 8v, so its a 20seh i believe.

chack the engine earth and it is wastet spark or distributor?

Are you getting 12v ign to the ignition coil then?

probably module/coil problem

theres a 2 pin plug that plugs into the coil, a green wire and a black wire.
ive test it with the ignition off, the black wire is earth the green is dead, test it with the ignition on and the green switches to earth and the black to 10v only, iirc. also the gearbox earth is new and earthed properly.

Black is ignition live and green is the low tension feed for the ecu and tacho.

is the coil supposed to be earthed through the bracket that bolts to the inner wing?

no i didnt think it would have to be earthed. ive tried my coil on just vaux trevs nova and it fired up straight away, so thats that 1 out the window. im going to try my ecu in his car tomorow. do you think this could be likely adam?

have you sorted this yet thought you were gonna bring your ecu up...
