sorry ive decided to change wors of songs and make em the subject,
so guess the song.
basical the barsterd rusted,i had patched it but decided to tear em up and do it properly.
ill post pixs when i work out how to do it.
basical the boots fucked,in each corner and behind the bumper.you know what i mean,
so whats has to be done,new rear cross member?or wot.
il get pixs on but it is pretty damn bad to be honest.
if its a crossmember wot am i lookin at cost wise.
dont say buy anther one ok,im gonna fix this one.
and im warning any1 says buy anther nova will get shot.

mine went there(and the sills,and the battery tray,and the inner arches....the list goes on lol). the mot guy said he couldn't fix it cos there was no sound metal to weld to. i told him this was bollox and took it round to 4 different places. all quoted me over a grand to fix!!!!! so i sold the bitch for ?150 and drowned my sorrows down the pub lol. then the next week i bought a new one :D

My 1.2 rusted in all the same places, in the boot corners i just cut it back to bare metal and welded a plate over it under the bumper i just used hammerite "KRUST" glass fibre and then P38. then I primed and painted it. fine in the MOT and no sign of the rust coming back (6 months and counting)

or.... if your feeling particularly bodge worthy you culd give the old skool dan plating trick a try!! :lol:

1. make a template of each corner of the boot in cardboard, make sure there a bit bigger than the offending rust holes!

2. if you can do it or get a m8 to cut some steel to your template

3. drill a few holes for some pot rivets :o

4. then simply rivet the plates into position

5. if you feel real flash like i did you could then even paint the plates the same colour as the car!

6. voila one fresh m o t or non rusty boot!

i done this on my first car an sr but the rust wasnt all that bad if yours is SERIOUS do it properly! :wink:
