Bump/Rub Strip Removal Advice

Hey,

I have a 1.2 blue nova merit 5 door, and was wondering if the bump/rub strips are pinned on or glued on or both ?

How old is it?

Very early novas have pins (pre-C/D reg iirc...), but most are just glued on. There's a how to in the articles section for debadging which covers the rub strips too.

its a j reg so 1991,

I seen the guide its awesome just didnt want to go take it off if there were pin holes.

How do i know if its a mk1 or mk2?

Thats a Mk2 - Yours should look something like this:

...note the front grille goes under the headlamps, which are rectangular. Mk2s are from H to L reg.


A Mk1 looks like this:

...note the grill does NOT go under the headlamps, which are square. Mk1s go from X to H reg (H was the crossover year, so a H reg nova can be Mk1 or Mk2).

Its not infallable though, as the front end is easy to swap over. There's also other differences such as the interior and design of spoilers etc.
