Just wondering if anyone knows the prices of a Renault Laguna or Seat Ibiza front splitter if you get them directly from Renault or Seat dealers? I never ever see these cars in the scrappies, so looks like I'll have to go to a dealer or something. Also which one do people prefer?

Renault Laguna ones will set you back ?45+ from the dealer. Seat Ibiza ones will cost around ?20+ from the dealer.

As for prefrence, I've got a laguna one at the minute, but am thinking of changing it to the seat. The Seat splitter is deeper, so your car will look closer to the ground.

Have a look on the web and see which you prefer.

Thanks for the info. Say I was to get a Seat Ibiza one how easily do they fit on? My bumper is a standard mk2 1.2i one so will it go straight on? How do people fasten them, just bolt them on?
Cheers

The Seat splitter is pretty much the right size for the Mk 2 bumper. best thing to do, is cut some "V shaped" slots when your bending it around the corner. this will give you a bit more flexability.

You can use screws to attach it or Rivots, etc. It's pretty easy to fit.

I have had both on my car, and would say the SEAT looks better (Mine was Cupra Sport version) as it is much deeper BUT i have reverted to the laguna because you can get a perfect fit with no gap where the bottom of the bumper fits the top of the splitter...... I have never seen a SEAT one with a perfect fit in this place.... The final solution is the SEAT Cordoba GTI splitter which comes in 2 pieces and is deeper than the laguna, but easy to fit....... has a vent at each side similar to the laguna. As ever you will need to cut'n'shut!!!

You can get the Seat splitter to match up perfectly. In fact, I'd say it's harder to fit the Laguna one than it is to fit the Seat one. All you need is a little patience.

i was just about to write the same as Jim, the seat ones are easier to fit flush just need to prep properly and line up the seat splitter properly most people just take a few chunks out and bend them round, do lots of little triangles as aposed to 3-4 big ones.

I fitted a seat gte splitter to my bumper - well deep when 60mm drop taken into account - I gotta be dead careful over speed bumps - thats the few I can now still get over!!!

Goes on easy - several mod pages out there in web land - I also have pics of what I did. My bumper was a GSi one but the bottom section is pretty identical to standard 1.2 one (had it on there also). I payd ?32 from seat dealer inc vat (which they never tell u about!)

check out - www.novamad.net or pm me and I'll send you my address so you can send me a cd for images (theyre hi res ones - too big to send over intenet!)

One more question. It dawned on me that there are different marks and models of Ibizas - the newer ones have different front ends don't they. So which do I ask for? Which specific ones have you guys used?

Funny you should ask. I just spoke to SEAT and asked how much an Ibiza Gti splitter was...?31.73 inc VAT. I asked if there were any other variants of this splitter and they said no. The Gti one should fit no probs round a Mk2 bumper (not sure about a Mk1 Nova).
