Specifically, I'm looking for a GX390 replica for a go kart, the cheapest I've found one for so far is about £230 from pump.co.uk brand new. Does anyone know where I could get one cheaper brand new or reconditioned?
Thanks, Dan.
to be honest, the 390 is so sluggish that you can see why people use 2 gx160's on the carts......
look up kipor, multiquip & try searching gas or petrol engine on ebuy but some of them are terrible....... They might look like a honda, but they drink oil & teir linkages usually fall apart......
Or try sticking a motorbike engine on.

Thanks mowgli :).
The reason I'm asking about the 390, is that me and a friend will be building up our own karts on a shoestring budget based on some 'corporate' frames that we'll be trimming down, and the 390 is the most powerful engine that we know we can litterally just bolt on and have some fun with. Eventually we will get a lot more serious and start some fabrication, but we're after cheap and easy for now.

We've just bought the chassis and most of the parts needed for it.
Aside from the odd bolt or 2, we're just lacking an engine, throttle cable, fuel line, side pods+mounts and brake caliper seals.
