I've got a d plate nova, i was thinking about putting a set of 5.25in components in the front doors and a 12in sub in the boot to drive the bass. Shall I run the components off a seprate amp or get a four channel amp and run both the components and the sub together. What size amp would i need if i had a 400w sub and was running them both together(the sub and components)

Obviously the best solution is to run them of seperate amps... 5inch speakers don't need as much power as a 400W sub .. this is also, not suprisingly, the most expensive option....

Why only 5inch in the front? personally i think 5 inch aare a waste of time.... you're better of getting larger speakers (17cm??) and a pair of tweeters for the front and run the sub in the boot for some heart stopping bass

This way you'll get a better bablance accross the spectrum, your set up, to my mind, sounds like it would be all top and bass and not much in between.. good is all you listen to is house, garage etc, but crap for anything else
