gauges heater controls

Seen a couple people using the heater controls to fit gauges. Looking for what the correct gauge size is il be needing to fit them in the controls please.

Think most aftermarket guages are 51 / 52 mm ?? these fit fine, you've gotta chop / file the metal plate on the back of the dash to fit the guages thru, then they just wedge in place nicely.

Now that your question has been answerd, anyone got the best place to put a gauge so that i dont need to lose anything on my mk2 dash?

You can get gauge pods for the pillar off ebay.

I mounted my rev counter where the ashtray thing used to be. (Not a good place for a rev counter, but its only for show). May be ok for different types of gauges though:
