Ash was saying t'other day that new V5s come out in a few days, yet changes take about 4 weeks.

Ring the DVLA and chase them up?

Mine took about 3 weeks. I tried to change the engine size at the same time but got a letter back with it saying they wanted engine change proof (same as what RJ has probably) - lucky I have a mate that owns a garage :)

A quick call to DVLA and they re-issued.

You can buy road tax with the small green slip you get from the old owner.

I did it last week.

^ As stu says, the green slip is valid for something like 8 weeks for use in getting your hands on tax.

It'l turn up, not a so much of a big deal anyhow... i'd be more worried if i'd sold a car and the new owner hadn't got the log-book !
