View Full Version : Benji's Nova
Hi All,
I've been off the nova scene for about 2 years now and i'm just getting back into my car. I thought i stick up a post about what i've done in the past and what i'm up to now.
This is what the car looked like before i decided to go to town on it.

I did quite a few trackdays in it at this spec and added bits gradually as i went along.

It started life as 1.2swing but pretty much as soon as i bought it i fitted a 1400 with a single weber carb. This soon got upgraded to a pair of twin 40's. I fitted a head from a 1400 sri which was fetteled by a local engine builder. Not long afterwards it was treated to a piper 285 cam.
On the suspension and brakes side of things i got a set of Avo coilovers and wilwood front brakes. A quickrak was also fitted along with mylon bushes all round and competition engine mounts. I also fitted a safety devices cage.
Eventually i decided to strip the car and start again. Eveything was taken back to bare metal, both rear 1/4's were replaced and the front was given a facelift.

The interior was totally stirpped and the whole thing sprayed in a SEAT pale blue. I got the car back on the road after a lengthly rebuild and took it to PVS 2006. It ran a 14.9 1/4, not too shabby for a 1400. The engine was sold soon after thes and the car has stood since then.
This is what it looked like at PVS 2006

Over the past few weeks i've been motivated to get the car finished. I have a 2.0l 16v engine to fit along with a set of carbs from a R1 and an inlet manifold i've found on ebay.

I was only wondering what ever happened to you & your Nova earlier this week. I have a few pics of it from PV06 IIRC.
Be good to have you back on the scene mate.
