View Full Version : The clock is ticking
 4 weeks to go from this weekend to the PV weekend:eek:
Hows everyone doing with getting their cars ready - any tales of heroics in the face of adversity? Or are there any tales of an unbelievably casual approach where absolutely fook all's been done and its all gonna end in tears on the way to PVlol ? Also whose coming the furthest??

Damn!!! Only 4 weeks!! I've got no gearbox, thats away having the syncros done, which we're waiting on regal for... On a good note i've just had my beam, anti-roll bars, lower arms and engine mounts back from the powder coaters and a load of bolts and bits back from being zinc coated. Just waiting for rear wheel bearings, guides for the hand cables and a few other bits and i can get building the back end back up. Hopefully be done in time!!

This is the show at Billing Aquadome??
I may be attending it again this year, but it doesnt look like i'll be taking a Nova though.
This is the show at Billing Aquadome??

Its a bit confusing this since both shows take place only about 10 miles apart in Northamptonshire.
Billing is a general Vauxhall show that takes place in the summer annually at Billing aquadrome which is a park on the south side of Northampton next to the A45.
PV is a seperate show which is taking place at Santa Pod drag raceway which is a few miles S.E. of Northampton out on a disused airfield in the middle of the countryside. This is taking place on June 8th
Ah right, appoligies then so. We were at Billing 2 years ago, i know the title was abbreviated to something but couldnt recall what. Cheers mate.

4 weeks
Mine will be coming down but its whether I have will enough time and money to fit the new engine etc! Still not sure whether to keep the original 13" 3 spokes and cheese brakes or stick my 16v ones on and change to the 15" 5 spoke Tigra/Vectra alloys...
To get the engine in and running I need:
-New F10/13 diff bearings for the TranX
-1.4SR ignition loom
-Facet fuel pump, lines etc
-Swap engine/box etc
-Fire her up
-Run her in
-RR sesh and tune
-The unplanned/overlooked problems
I've 13 days now until my uni exams so some revising/mincing jiggery pokery is required lol

I've been far too casual about finishing mine. Though when people ask I dont have much to tell them....
This weekend will be head down & getting a groove on though.

I will not have the money to sort my car out in 4weeks :( Thanks to ste porter its actually running again though. Had head skimmed and engine rebuilt last week. Need loads of work doing to it- but definately wont be ready for pv...
Mines erm, ready lol might wash it or something so i dont feel left out,
BUT I just hope all of you that have paid up do make it as with a stand of over 100 cars to date its going to be a spectacular event :D :D :D (standpasses are available for a limited few late comers if requested :thumb: )
Also i only have about 35 or so pm's with pictures of attending cars which with only a few weeks left is really screwing me up with any chance of a design for the stand :( So a few more of them would be great
got one reserved for me mofo?
have you requested one :p
yes, you should have had a pm a few days back :p If not then the forum is gay and cant do "CC" in pms right lol
Ideally I want a load of stuff doing to mine, rear arches etc
But none of that will be getting done, i'll just get it looking best it can.
Oh, and I also need to find out why the engine wont currently run Pmsl lol
I'm still hunting for a shed to come down in - rather than bring the Ibiza.
I think the Scottish contingent will be the furthest travelled - although some of the Northern Irish boys might be close.
Didnt someone mention they were coming all the way from Norway?!?

Got mot and tax on it last Friday.

Got a noise from front wheel bearing so got that to sort and the Stack dash has decided it doesn't want to display fuel level over the winter.
See you all in few weeks!!

Or are there any tales of an unbelievably casual approach where absolutely fook all's been done and its all gonna end in tears on the way to PVlol ?
Ummmm, kinda forgot about PV lol Does that class as casual. Have the small matter of end of year exams to do between now and PV, so not exactly gonna be near, or have anytime to do anything to it, it kinda needs taxing and MOTing before then too, I guess it'll pass.....:tard:
Just checked and I think exams finish on the 4th and PV is the 8th, so that's loads of time to get everything sorted...........right?
I just need 4 tyres for the trailer, and get the Vito a towbar, and some insurance lol.
Then a clean as the car is filthy again :)

From a car point of view I find PV a bit boring, show cars aren't really my thing and neither is the quarter mile. Trackdays and sprint are where its at
