I asked a while back how to remove but I can't find the post and i've forgotten.

So just one last time! How do you remove it correctly?

Ive unclipped the 4 clips at the top of the grille, and the 4 screws, 2 either wheel arch.

Now what?

Thanks

Reach down behind the front bumper through where the grill should sit, and find one 13mm nut holding the main part of the bumper bar onto the rails, undo those(theres one each end) and then slide the bumper forward

But the grill hasn't popped out completely? Are there any more clips other then the 4 top ones?

And to remove the bumper there are 4 13mm bolts in the inner wings which will come out with the bumper bar atched.

All i want to remove is the plastic of the bumper. As simply as possible!! :P

Undo the bolts atop the grill. Pull grill forward, there's a couple of legs which grab the bumper you'll need to wiggle off (if its a Mk2, then the ends of the grille clip into the wings under the headlamps - these will break off, so you'll need to buy a new grille). Look into the wheel arch and you'll see some holes - stick a 13mm socket into these to undo the bolts. The remove the screws inside the outer arch where the bumper wraps round the arch.

It's a mk2. there aren't any bolts atop the grille, there were clips which i've undone.

I popped the headlight units out to get these clips as i dont want to have to buy a new grille. But I can't see these 2 13mm bolts?

Stick your head in the wheelach, you'll see a hole (can't remember if its square or round) - in there will be the 13mm bolt

If its an SR/GTE, it will have plastic rivets in the bottom iirc

If you havn't been doing then please take your wheel off when trying to find these inside the arch.

All mk2 bumpers have little plastic clips going in to the body along the underside. You need to get something sharp and push the middle through each of the little clips and they'll come out.

Thanks all. It's done, I found the two 13mm nuts. They were on the arms coming from the front of the body. Nowhere near under the wheel arch? I got to them by reaching down past the radiator.

The two 13mm nuts method is how I remove front bumpers - it leaves the L brackets on the car. They were suggesting you remove the L brackets still attached to the bumper iron, which you do by undoing a few bolts through the wheel arch.

Either way, it's done, nice work! lol

Ahhh! That makes sense now! Good to know anyway, thanks.

Thats how I got my bumper off, but then realised its a ball ache when those bolts work loose as you're trying to put the bumper back on. Oops lol

Undoing the 13mm nuts by the rad is the easiest way.
The chassis/bumper rail ones in the inner wings have a habit of shearing.
