as you will all know by now Im having problems trying to get an f13cr for my gte lump, would fitting a standard f13 from a cavalier 1.6 make much of a difference?-would it fit straight on? as I thought these were big block engines?

It should fit straight on, later cavs have small block engines. It's like my brother has a Mark2 astra 1.6sr on a C and that is a big block with a F16 which is now on mine, but he also so has got a G reg astra 1.6 small block with a F13. I don't know if it would give you anymore top end.

Hope it helps

Matt :)

Can't remember why you need the box, but if you do the following, you'll be well sorted;

Buy an F13 long ratio. Find an F10. undo the end of both boxes, about 10 bolts. slide out the gear cassettes (they come out in one piece). Switch the two over.

Having the f10 ratio's with the f13 FD will give you about the best combination for acceleration.
