is there any way to override the rad fan on a switch and have it still work off the thermostat as well ?

Yep. Splice into the wires running to the temp switch on the rad, run the wires up to teh dash, put a switch accross em and bobs your mothers incestuous father.

yes just run the switch in parallel to the rad switch, that way either of them can activate the fan. Thats how I did mine.

just wire the fan switch to a toggle switch in side the car then you can run the fan any time you like, it wouldnt make any diffrent to the thermostat as the thermostat only open when it gets hot and has nothing to do with the fan switch..

No, the fan runs from a thermostat, just not the one your thinking of ;)

Actually just re-read that, the thermostat is the mechanical valve that lets water into the rad and then you have a fan switch thing that screws into the side of the rad that switches the fan, im guessing thats what you meant.
