well after the nova got broken into i lost my head unit so got bored before work last night and decided to do some imulse buying so i can complete my sytem and after needing a recone for my DD 9515 and selling my solid f2500d all i have left were some 6x9's(alpine) l;eft over from an install i made for someone and my 6 channel amp so the new system, although budget comepared to my last system, is as follows
sub daimond audio d1
http://www.caraudiodirect.co.uk/diamond-audio-12d2-p-6032.html?cadid=31a943c2a51d5db483ec582b8198e8c2
amp for both sub and front comps and 6x9's(will probably be ditching the 6x9's as ive always vowed never to use them)
directed audio 700/6-already have lying about amongst countless amps and audio gear
http://www.drdetailshop.com/d700-6.htm
and finally my new head unit

shouldnt be too bad for a budget system, just hope it wont dissapoint after going from a dd9515 with 2.5kw rms to a diamond audio d1 on 275wrms lol

no alarm as of yet but a thatcham cat 1 should be on the way soon, the car is in a workshop with a pretty good alarm for the next month or so at least ;)
anywho, cracked on with the install today, just got some more wiring and of course wait for my new sub and HU to turn up,trial fitted wih my jbl gt3
E2A;its trimmed in vinyl by the way, sorry for the crappy pics.will probably re-do it in leather when i source some for when i retrim the rest of my interior in the same fashion/colour scheme.not a bad effort for three hours worki f i do say so myself, conisdering ive not done a professional quality install for nearly two years

what dya reckon

the conrer/side pieces arent screwed in yet so that why theres a small gap before anyone start critisizing. the only thing i dont like is the fact im using 6x9's and hate even the look of them but i dont want to be spending any more money than i have ot on a sound system that is only really in there so i have some music this summer
got a few other fancy bits to do yet but there a suprise :thumb:

thanks RJ,i used to do it for a living so im pretty handy with mdf :D
fiberglass was always my forte though but i couldnt be ****d spending 60+ hours building, fillering, sanding, prepping and painting so i cobbled this together over two afternoons which suits me fine, didnt want a big sound sytem again because i get carried away and the whole car fund/time gets spent on audio:roll:

i tell you what though,i have missed making quality sound sytems, cant beat it for satisfaction, except for when you put a turbo on something

all finished today, new sub and head unit arrived and all plumbed in and sounds suprisingly good to be honest, its rare i have it on anyway so it will do me.pics to follow tomorow:thumb:

thought i might as well finish the thread off for those of you that didnt see my pics in general section
dvd is now fully operational and running through the headunit too.one of the screws holding the amp up through the hole in the false floor has come out though, need to put in a longer screw due to me being a bit over zealous over some big bumps lol
