Are these the same or different?

You mean the L-shaped brackets that join the bumper bar?

EPC says Mk1 has a different part number to Mk2. All the bumper bars are the same though.

The bumper carrier bars are different.

If facelifting a mk1 for example the wrong carrier bar will make the bumper sit too high.

Hmm, EPC has the same part number for the bumper bars on both Mk1 and Mk2

Right, so the Carrier is the same and the chassis mounted brackets arent

According to EPC, yes.

That cant be right, as MK1's have a pointy front end, whereas MK2's dont, so the bars cant be the same! Whereas the chassis mounts ARE the same IIRC.

Oddness

Mk2's have the same point as a Mk1, its just the bumper is a little more rounded so its not so prominent (this (http://i256.photobucket.com/albums/hh193/princess_JJ23/beast1.jpg) pic shows how pointy the front bumper is)

Aye, but im still convinced theyre no where near as pointy as the MK1.

Bumper carriers are differnt, the bolt holes that bolt the bar to the L shaped brakets on the chassis leg are in differnt places, how ever they revised them and they now offer one part at vauxhall that has the 2 sets of holes you can line up. The L shape brackets are diffrent aswell. The MK2 brakets are longer and stick out more.

theL things that come out of the chassis are different, you end up with a bumper bar way of to the left when you put a mk1 bar on a mk2 chassis
