There is a kit out for the nova that is about ?80 that is supposed to reduce gear lever movement by 30%?

I was wondering...is this kit just a shorter gear stick? or has it got some kind od complicated mechanism?

Cos if it's just a shorter gear stick, couldn't you just cut you gearstick by a few inches? Have any of you lot done it?

Cheers Lads...

PS. roybacer.co.uk is close to completion, so keep sending your syuff in...cheers

My mate cut his gear stick, It looks the mutts nutz but its really hard to drive with. In cars like the Audi TT and Nissan Skyline the seats are much lower so the shorter gear stick makes up for the height of the seat but in a nova its too hard to shift, ecspecially quickly like when we iz racing all the other pooop mobills on the road. My advice dont do it.

Alright ged, the kit changes the pivot point on the gear linkage just behind the gear box in the engine bay (the elongated S thing). I removed the pivot from mine and welded it back on to shorten the front to back throw, it worked quite well. You would need to alter the other pivots to shorten the side to side throw, I havn't done this.
cheers Paul.

Paul is right, the kit reduces the moment required, but i have read (revs i think) that it wasn't that good, i wasn't easy to get in gear and poped out of gear some times. i have considered it but i don't want my gear box 2 feel shite!
