View Full Version : Nat's Sr Nova :D
okay, well here are some pics of my 1.3 sr nova, i've named him Norris!
It needs attention to the body as you can see in the pictures. I am starting to get everything together to begin work, with a little help from my dad :D
Help will be greatly appreciated, also any ideas and comments you have will be good to hear.
I had the idea of maybe getting dealer stickers made up, but then after reading about how rare the sr is becoming i'm thinking of making it mint and keeping it original as possible.

reminds me of my first sr :)
If it were me i would tidy the bodywork, get the original interior back in and keep the alloys that are on it, but most of all keep it standardish.
looks like a good base! I'm with you on making it as original as poss, lose the mk2 interior and wheels and it'll look good!

if you change the interior iv got some mk1 stuff if you fancy abit of swappy swap ?
The interior i changed over as the one that was in it was a wreck, got the whole interior for 50 quid, quite happy with that. have been thinking it looks abit out of place. have been looking for the burberry check interior, last complete set i saw went for like 160 squids on ebay. but they are hard to come by, whats the next best??
with the interior came electric windows, its not standard but im my opinon its a plus.
Wheels, yea they need changing, they are borrowed from my brothers gsi astra, need tyres badly, constantly rubbing the arches when i go round a corner or roundabout. So am looking into that
the greybits on the outside, (dont know what ya call it!) but they are starting to peel away between the door and back window. Best way to sort them out???
But first things first i'm gunna get the bodywork sorted.
Will keep everything updated on here. Is going to be a long slow process, dont have much free time.
The vinyl on the window and doors aren't too bad to replace, I had a local graphics company do mine and they came out fine, definitely go for the std look with an sr. Bodywork dont look too bad, especially the arches.
Grey sr interiors do come up for sale now and then, just keep checking ebay. Wheels look ok on it, what tyres have they got thats making them scrub?
Looks like a smashing little Nova that :D

really nice motor huni and im shure we all agree with keeping it as standard as possible worth more in long run and you wont ruin the car!! but this is a well nice motor matey

The wings are being replaced, have a pair waiting to be prepared for spraying. Currently one of mine had a whole in, the other is badly rusting.
Welding has been done already on the arches and front ??turrets?? for mot when i first got it.
A couple of dents need knocking out and 'scratches' which need sorting, nothing major.
Tyres are currently 195/60/14's, think i need a lower profile and narrower tyre? The wheels will be staying for the time being, money funds aren't allowing new wheels yet lol, am always looking for them though, have thought of re-furbing them.?
Its had new shocks and springs put on and lowered, not sure by how much think if i'm right by 30mm.
Its got a single weber choke. Don't know all the in's and out's. But i rekcon you'll get the jist of it all, lol learning process for me.:) Planning to do the work myself under the watchful eye of my dad so no botch jobs :D

Very nice little project!! good luck Nat.

no swappy swap, i'm afraid. if interior goes its already got a second home.
Doing the work yourself is always the best policy, saves a sheet load of money and you'll learn quite a lot too.
yea, think its about time i started learning a bit more. My dad does alot of projects, mainly 4x4's atm keen off-roaders, competions mainly now so ive picked upbits and bobs helping out in the garage. My brothers a car nut aswell so hes always round, his first car was a nova untill he smashed it up!Carrying on the family tradition lol ( just not the smashing it up part hopefully), and the money side is definatly a major player!
does look quite good compared to most sr's these days top stuff :thumb:

Love the colour and just the fact it's a SR.

Im from bedfordshire, if you ever go up the A1 around bedford area you might of even seen it parked up!
I only paid £250 for it was well chuffed :D
If I had loads of money I still wouldnt' pay for someone else to do the work, whole point is that I do it myself and learn as i go. :D
