I have a Nova GSi strut brace:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/OMP-Front-Upper-Strut-Brace-VAUXHALL-NOVA-1-6-GTE-GSi_W0QQitemZ180216137550QQihZ008QQcategoryZ10404Q QrdZ1QQssPageNameZWD1VQQcmdZViewItemQQ_trksidZp163 8Q2em118Q2el1247
But my Nova has the big airfilter (circle device lol)
If I put the Corsa B intake on it will the strut brace fit ?
Cheers, Vaughan :)

Also, could people post up pics of a small block engine with a strut brace fitted
Either with the standard air-filter or the Corsa intake :) :)
There is a OMP Brace that is specifically for the Carbed Models, and will clear a Large K&N or anything else Sticking up.
This is a Flat GTE/GSi brace fitted to mine...

So would that fit mine with a Corsa intake or a K&N Bolt On ?
I had the curved SR type one with my spi engine.

Dunno if this helps but I got a K&N Bolt on filter on my 1.2

As adam says.. probably best to go with the Curved SR (carb) type brace.
The Gsi only fits mine because i've got a set of Carbs which are alot lower profile than the EFi unit, or SPi/Carb for that matter.
Is yours Spi or Carb ?

tidy under there tek - dont often see one piece braces like that :thumb:
should ditch the bonnet prop and the hot air feed thingy for the old airbox on your exhaust manifold.. save u some weight.
Those hot air feeds are made of tin. They weigh about 2 grams lol

Shes fairly tidy under the bonnet but does need some cleaning. I have grown to like that brace, my bro got it for my as a Xmas gift, without consulting me, and spent more then I was planning to but I like it. Just hope I can squeeze it in when I stick the XE / LET under there (Hopefully soon, god willing and he'd better lol )
Come to think of it I dont know why I havent taken off the hot air feed, I used to use it when I first got my K&N but then realised its not needed. Mite rip it out.

Nick, mines is an SPi engine
Is the strut brace I have no good ?
And Tek, my strut brace is more flush that yours so it would bump into the bolt-on if I had one

I could fit a pan shaped filter on with that brace, dunno about your straight one tho...
Vaughan...
the K&N filter on Tek's 1.2 is quite chunky, i'm sure a a Corsa SPi intake setup will be lower than that.
The GSi one that you and i have will maybe clear the Corsa SPi intake.
You ideally need a picture of a 1.2 / 1.4 SPi setup using the Corsa Intake. Hunt through Ad's WIP, i'm sure he had one on his.

Cheers Nick,
I don't think Ad had a straight strut brace...?
Nope... I can give you a measurement from the top of the Camhousing to the underside of the bar ?

Aye that would do mate :)
I'll opt for the Corsa intake 1st then take it from there
Cool, i'l have to try do it tommoro..
I'l take it from the Top of the actual Cam housing, not the cover (as i've got a E16SE with the raised cover/oil seperator)

Looking at that/\, and Nick's pic, i dont think a straight one would fit. The spi box sits inline with the suspension top mounts, which is right where the straight strut brace sits

Unless the brace sits higher than the airbox
ive got a supernovas one on mine, clears the original pan filter easilly.. i opted for this because i think k&n's look silly on small engines, so wanted to keep the pan style one :thumb:

Hmm The Flat brace does rise a slight amount . My Fuel Pump sits a touch higher than the strut top.
It'd be a CLOSE one
a brace like nicks might go round the back of the airbox tho, the bar is sat towards the rear of mounting plate

i had the same one on my 1.2i with the corsa box and it used to catch on the back ever so slightly so i cut the air box down a bit and plastic welded it so there was enough clearence :)
