As yours, 6 clock GSi dials in a ............... (wait for it) GSi.

Original is best. Fook fitting a digi-gash!

i beg to differ...

i prefer the white ring'd SRi dial's, but in a GSI facia, so it's got the 6 dials, instead of 4 & 2 light's

I have standards without rev counter

Jack

None at the mo lol

For MOT it will no doubt be poverty dials

Then I might slap in some spare 6-pod dials

Then I'll eventually get round to fitting the cav dials I have lol

They look good ad, is it just a case of fitting the oil pressure gauge and voltmeter to the sri dash?

Ps i'm with steve, i have a full set of working early yellow needle dials.

Adam

Fitted the SRI speedo and rev counter to GSi dash :)
As the Sri one dont have the wiring for the oil press gauge etc.

On all my Nova gauges, thats about a quarter of a tank...... (ie; showing over half!)

Mine are same as Adam's in the red shed, mix and match of GSi/SRi.

Digi gash in the turbo but too much hassle to change it.

Voltage seems a bit low according to your dial mate. Unless you got lights and electrics running. Sorry just looked odd :D . Mine is always at 3/4's when engine is running.

Half on the batt gauge is right, around 14v, shouldnt be much higher unless the alts dodgy.

vaughanmc
30-04-08, 10:25 PM
I always wondered what the wee lines meant

So the middle line is 14v ?

Adam
30-04-08, 10:32 PM
Id say so yeah. The 1st white line is around 12v

Dave.

Nova_Tek

Thought the middle line was 12v as normally anything below 10v is in the red zone. ECU'd cars will probably cut out.

Know this coz my dads Cav had a dodgey alternator eveytime the bat got discharged the car would throw a fault code for battery under 10v and car would cut out. so thats my asumption

vaughanmc
30-04-08, 10:37 PM
I thought if the battery was full the gauge would sit full...

But I had Calibra Turbo oil and battery gauges in the Nova and the battery always sat about 14v

Nova_Tek
30-04-08, 10:40 PM
With the enigne running it should be like 13.5 - 14.5 volts with a healthy alternator and battery. With electrics on that will go down.

SRimon
30-04-08, 10:41 PM
Aye well it was sitting on a hill lol and you know the Nova gauges

Not true

In MK2's the loom for the 6 dial is the same as the 1.2 dash

I had working oil, battery, rev etc just from plugging it in on my old base MK2 nova.

vaughanmc
30-04-08, 10:42 PM
You need a double pin oil pressure switch though ? As the oil gauge will go off the mark

Nova_Tek
30-04-08, 10:46 PM

Yep you need a pressure sender for the light and guage to work otherwie like you said it will spring right round.

personaly i think the digi looks sweet, but i need a flippin car first

With the engine off turn the ign on. Thats your batt voltage (12v)
When running,14ish V is right which sits the gauge around the middle mark. Red is 9/10v

SRimon

When my Nova had the standard dials in the petrol gauge worked fine

I have had 3 new sets of clocks in and the petrol gauge hasn't been correct since lol

Any ideas?

Nova_Tek
30-04-08, 11:00 PM
When my ignition is on my guage sits at half or just over. With my engine running the guage sits at 3/4 mark.

http://img171.imageshack.us/img171/2449/30042008191ge2.jpg

As above this is at ignition on sits there at that level or on the black line. Had the door open a while whilst I was working on something so the bat voltage dropped a tad.

Be the actual dial..

Besides i've always found 1.2 fuel gages soooo much more accurate than the 6 dial ones!

I have/had the digidash in mine, fitted by previous owner. I spruced it up a little and bought some of the different coloured films from Dom off MIG and looked really well.

Not sure what I'm going to do now though as the TranX diff I have doesn't run a speedo ring so the speedo won't work. I'm thinking of customising the digi dash to suit and mounting an SPA digi speedo on it somewhere.
