Single Wiper - Wiping the bonnet?

I've got a single wiper on my Nova, and recently it's started to play up.

Basically what happens is, it'll do a single wipe fine, then it just goes too far and gets stuck on the bonnet.

I thought maybe it had slipped on the spindle and was simply going too far, but last night I adjusted it so it started right over on the passenger side. This time it did a full wipe, looked as if it was a bout to go back to the other side, and then just seemed to go crazy and went even further onto the bonnet!

I'm thinking maybe the linkage has a problem or something?

Any ideas on this one guys?

Was this a D.I.Y install or did you buy a kit from somewhere? It sounds like the linkage arm is the wrong size and probably needs trimming (hard to say exactly without seeing the action working).

It was on the car when i got it, so I've no idea! :(

There seems to be some thread to adjust the length of the linkage arm, so I may have a fiddle with this...?

Give it a try. At a guess you probably want to shorten the distance of the arm between the motor and the wiper mechanism.
