Difference from 1.2 head to 1.3

Recently acquired a 1.3 head that ported polished 3 angle valve seats the whole lot. However i have a 1.2 and was wondering if it would make a difference to engine if i fitted it. i have been told my someone (who i dont realli trust that much) that i will have to shave 40thou of it to get it right. was just wondering if anyone knows anything about it?

you ideally want to measure the compression ratio to work out how much exactly needs skimming off it.

depends if the head has been skimmed already...... ie you simply wont know till you measure it.

The thickness of a std head is 96mm.
