xe throwing random paddys

ok my car runs fine loads of power smooth and generaly spot on but .........
on ocasion if i blip the throtle with the clutch in when slowing down it will give one almighty pop like a miss fire pop and feel down on power for a short period straight after. Any body got any ideas what it could be i checked the basics and obvious all i can think of now is that its one of the main sensors but dont know which one to look into first

its a late spec xe on diss pack motronic 2.8

has any body got a list of values for each sensor and how to test them?

Could be knock sensor (just a guess - as it can adv/retard ignition at random if its fecked)

not when your running a stack dash and dont have a wiring diagram i could just rig it up to a bulb though i surpose

so anybody got a list of values and or how to test all the main sensors on an xe?
