ok, so heres my nova, bought it on the 14th february last year, got it on the road again 1st january 2008, the car started life as a 1.2 merit (carb yeha) and i bought it standard needing a few bits and pieces done..... so, i set about getting the car ready for paint and saved up the funds and got it painted last august, and thought i was going to be happy enough for a while, but nope the suspension landed, then foolishly sold my GSI astra fan blades that where mint to a fella, who then curbed the two fronts and expected me to give him the money he paid for them back - no chance.... so i set about finding another set and came across a cheap set of ORIGINAL POWEDERCOATED GTE whites with proper white centre caps at stupidly cheap money so i bought them and personally dont think it was too bad an idea lol....... gsi side skirts where the next addition along with the gsi spoiler which finished the exterior of the car.......

the 1200 decided to cook a headgasket (shame, best going 1.2 8v i ever had) and as i would rather change an engine than split one i sourced a 1.4 sr engine and gearbox....... i now need a new gearbox (oops)...... i stuck with the 1.4 as personally prefer a small block engine in a nova, keeps with the feel of things plus there is plenty of things you can acheive from these engines with the right know how - and not upset the balance of the car as you would with the likes of a redtop/2.0 8v etc......

i have now also acquired webers and a shortshift, to start the work on this small block and it will be interesting to say the least....

i also fitted a digi dash to the car last wednesday but am yet to get pics, so ill get them up soon

now all i need to be happy with the car is the black strips along the guttering at the sides of the roof....... new black vinyl between the side windows..... gsi rear window surrounds..... clear standard looking side repeaters.... proper sr front seats instead of the crappy flair ones.... and finally sr sun visors

that looks ace. think the bumper and red stripe suit the blue VERY well! IF it was my car, i would maybe choose some diff wheels tho, apart from that tho i love it :)

good luck with ur test if that L plate is urs :)

Are you the learner ?

Looks quite smart, i'd give the wheels a refurb... prehaps with a Greyish silver.

L plate is because i think in ireland , like with young motorcyclists here or anywhere, you have to display L plates for a long period of time; even after passing your test i think..
Number plate is legal too lol; again irish reg..

Cool first car, you lot in ireland certainly have a habit of wedging ya motors.. (low ride heights)

Don't you have to display the L plates for 12 months and are limited to 50mph?

Nice Nova btw.. :) The white wheels work well with the blue imo..

Lovely stance on those 14" wheels.

L plates when you're learning, R plates for a year after you pass your test. While displaying R plates you can't exceed 45 mph :(

The Nova looks well! Love the rims and height etc. Mine has L plates too. But I think it would look better with R plates!:)

two weeks till the test cant wait, only problem is the wheels have been catching the wings and they are now in a sorry state so getting the wings fixed and replacing the 60mm shocks and springs with coilies and sorting out the skirts this winter didnt think anyone would notice the wonkyness lol deciding on what splitter to get, thinkin mk3 golf vr6 but am thinking it might sit a bit low at the front - eek
