need to fit some security stuff to my car and was thinking about an immobiliser.
could someone tell me how they work?

by looking at this one for example, if you wanted to rob the car whats stopping you just ripping the key touch out of the dash, cutting the 2 wires and connecting them, this would surly just bypass needing the key?? or is there some magical electrics going on inside the key?

no that wouldnt work.
yeah it does have magical elements to stop this

all it really does is cut the circuit to the ecu or fuel pump or if the muppet that fitted poorly he might wire it into the starter trigger.

Think most immob's are wired into 2 or 3 circuits, fuel pump, ecu to cut the spark and starter motor. Up here you can get a good 1 fitted for £80.
